2017 June–Zoo Walk to see the Flowers

A hot and overcast day nevertheless a beautiful day to see the myriad of flowers and plants the zoo has on display.   The purpose of this trip was to photograph flowers, but somehow a few of the animals and some butterflies got into the photographs.

The outdoor gardens are among the zoo’s most popular attractions and include the Dorothy Harvie Gardens. The zoo’s sheltered location supports many marginally hardy plant species. The conservatory comprises the indoor component of the zoo’s gardens. It includes some “themed” areas such as the tropical garden, the rainforest, the arid garden, and the butterfly garden.

If you want to know more about the zoo, Wikipedia is a great resource.
